WG1 - PED Mapping, Characterisation and Learning

Main Objectives

Create a common knowledge pool on the state-of-the-art development in PEDs and based on the existing information, devise methods to characterise PEDs and recommend best practices for the implementation of PEDs.

Tasks

T1.1 Create a comprehensive PED database by mapping existing concepts, strategies, projects, technological and non-technological innovations related to PEDs in Europe
T1.2 Identify and compile main PED characteristics and key performance indicators (KPIs) through both network expertise and by drawing on emerging scholarship and policies
T1.3 Develop approches to scientifically validate PED definition developed by JPI UE
T1.4 Identify the challenges and barriers for the uptake of PEDs, capture lessons learned and provide recommendations on socio-technical measures for successful implementation
T1.5 Devise a roadmap for the implementation of PEDs in the short to medium term

PED-EU-NET

The COST Action Positive Energy Districts European Network (PED-EU-NET) aims to mobilise researchers and other relevant stakeholders across different domains and sectors to drive the deployment of Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) in Europe through open sharing of knowledge, exchange of ideas, pooling of resources, experimentation of new methods and co-creation of novel solutions.
